The proteges of AMMOC collectively have won every single one of these Canadian mathematical contests that are enlisted on this page. Moreover, many of these mentees have won several of these Canadian contests with international honor and have appeared in the top [1–5]% worldwide.
Team AMMOC in Canadian contests
Team AMMOC did a great show of academic excellence by earning ‘Gold/Silver/Bronze/HM’ titles in the Canadian Lynx Mathematics Challenge (CLMC), Canada’s second most prestigious mathematics competition, organized by the Canadian Mathematical Society, Novermeber 2025.
Team AMMOC has earned nine ‘Distinction/Honors’ titles in the Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC), Canada’s most prestigious mathematics competition, organized by the Canadian Mathematical Society. The COMC serves as the sole pathway for selecting the Canadian team for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). January 2025.
The AMMOC Team has distinguished itself as the top-performing math circle in Asia, excelling in every mathematics competition organized by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo. The team has earned over 60 distinctions across various CEMC contests.
Darsan Sivakumar became the youngest Indian to win the Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC) 2023, Canada’s most prestigious mathematics competition, organized by the Canadian Mathematical Society. Medha and Sarthak also earned top honors in the COMC 2023.
Sritha Uppaluru, Huy Nguyen, Sarthak Dhobale, Medha Shrivastava, and Parth Andhare won the Canadian Logical Mathematics Challenge (CLMC) 2023, one of Canada’s most prestigious competitions, organized by the Canadian Mathematical Society.
Contests of the University of Waterloo
- CEMC: The Center for Education in Mathematics and Computing is a specialized and unique initiative by the University of Waterloo. The center organizes a total of 12 international mathematics and computing contests. The prestige of these contests is very high for those seeking admission at top Canadian universities and American institutions like Caltech, UC Berkeley, the University of Chicago, Princeton, and other leading universities. All these contests are at least as good as the AMC and AIME contests. Mentees of AMMOC have won around six dozen certificates of distinction in various contests of CEMC. Please find soft copies of their certificates here.
Contests of the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS)
- The Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC) is Canada’s most prestigious contest alongside Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest and the Euclid Contest. The latter two are conducted by the University of Waterloo. These three contests are considered the strongest part of obtaining admission and entrance scholarships at prestigious Canadian universities like the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, University of British Columbia, Queens University, and several other universities. It is the most prestigious math competition in Canada and one of the most prestigious in the Americas. The COMC is the only way to be invited to compete internationally as part of the IMO Math Team of Canada! Team AMMOC has performed exceptionally well in this international contest.
- The Canada Lynx Mathematical Competition (CLMC) is a new mathematical competition for students in grades 7-12 and is organized by the CMS. The contest is available in online and offline format.
- CMO Qualifying Repêchage Competition (-Only through invitation by the CMS, and performance in this contest serves as a qualifier for the Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO).
- Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO). This is the National Olympiad of Canada. One is selected for CMO based on his/her performance in COMC , CMOQR, and other similar contests.
- The Canada Lynx Mathematical Competition (CLMC) is a new mathematical competition for students in grades 7-12 and is organized by the CMS.
